Welcome to Barras Green H.S. mini-site.
We are the Barras Green HS and we have been existence for over 50 years on the same site based at the Rose and Woodbine pub on North Street, Coventry. We are the biggest club in Coventry and regularly send the largest birdage in the Warwickshire Federation
We have a fabulous set up with an excellent club house that was partial built by one of our past president Joe Sproul. Some great characters have graced the club too many to detail but I can recall people like Freddie Birch , Gerry Aldrick and Alex Kew all of whom unfortunately have passed on.
The current membership include great stalwarts such as our clock setter Mick Butcher , Neil Howes our lottery king , John Wibberly , Malc “ digger” Fields , Pat Frank and Steve Powell the great painters and our oldest member Wally Gair
We try and involve all members and to achieve this we have leagues, hot spot races and young bird nominations to encourage everyone to participate. This results in everyone who sends to races picks something up at the presentation night.
