The Scottish National racing Pigeon Club

The secretary has just confirmed that our final channel race for 2006 will be from LESSAY.

Marking will take place on Thursday the 13th of June and the the race will be on Saturday the 15th.

This race will incorporate a yearling derby. lessay is close to the channel and situated on the Cherbourg pennisula, average distances to central areas are close to 500 miles.

With DEFRA confirming racing from France, the committee of the SNRPC met on Wednesday the 15th of June to make the Following decisions.

THE SNRPCs GOLD MEDAL RACE.
This will be flown from REIMS on Friday the 23rd of June weather permitting, with basketing taking place on Wednesday the 21st of June.

On Saturday the 3rd of June 2006 1531 pigeons were liberated by the SNRPCs convoyer John Frood on the instructions of our race controller John Alston of Ravenstruther assisted by Roy Seaton and Barney Kenny at 05.50. The SNRPCs first Inland National of 2006 Newbury

With the weather forecast set good for Saturday the 3rd of June 2006, 225 members with an entry of 1531 birds looked forward to a great first national race of the season. The race controller John Alston gave our convoyer the green light and he liberated the birds at 05.50 into a light west wind. Members of the SNRPC met at Newbridge Bowling Club to discuss the race programme for the coming season. Over 90 members attended this important meeting showing that there was no apathy within the club. The followng progamme was passed,all with majority votes.
