If you pull the flights it will take 45 days for them to grow completely back to the full length but after about 30 days they should be exercising without too much of a problem.
I use a new method of moulting my pigeons which I call Power Moulting and at some time I will fully explain this when I have more scientific proof as to all the pertinent details but let me say that it is IN MY OPINION, light years ahead of the light system, the dark system or moulting the pigeons naturally.
I have been pulling flights on my pigeons for more than 30 years and I also pulled the entire tail but when the Dark system came into the picture, I went to that because it suited me very well in the area where I used to race. Then I moved here to Florida and needed to find a system that I felt would help me fly better pigeons. Thus back to what I used to do plus more and the Power Moult Name is how this current system is referred to. This is not new and has been used for several hundred years but like many good things, they get lost as no one tells how they work or why they work. Only a few people know of certain tricks and most do not willingly share this information. So as of August 1, 2003 let it be known that the Power Moult System is officially announced and is alive and well and as I have more data to report, it will be disclosed.
A final note, if you are going to pull flights, they can be done at the same time but if you are trying to loft fly them and have them travel, then you may have to pull only 1 at a time. When I have pigeons that are handicapped and could become hawk prey, I keep them locked up until they stand a chance to survive.
